Good recent price but not as good as $180 two years ago ... I wonder when the supply/demand curve will change and we see more significant price drops?

I think production of most MLC SATA drives is slowing/stopping, so I imagine these will only go up in price as they get more scarce. It's mostly all about 3d NAND TLC drives now. Outside of the Samsung 860 PRO, I can't think of any new recent drive using MLC.
