or get it from bestbuy for $1299.99 and get any of these stands for free worth up to $271.99.

Umm why would anyone do that. You'll end up paying up to 271 dollars more. than if you buy it on frys.com and buy the exact same stand from best buy.

tv would be $1299.99 - $271.99 for stand, would cost $102.80 more than fry's. besides, not everyone likes to buy big screen tv's online.. especially if there is something wrong with it.. anyway, seemed like a good deal if you need a stand. here are some pics too..

Sears now has it for $799.99. See this thread. edit: I believe these are the same TVs despite the difference in model #s listed. If anyone finds out something to the contrary, please post.

One difference I noticed in the specs was the 550 model has 3 HDMI inputs where as the Sear's 500 model only has 2 HDMI inputs.

The 550 also has a slightly better contrast ratio and a side input panel (with composite inpouts & the 3rd HDMI input).

All things equal, I'd definitely take the 550 over the 500 but I wouldn't pay $100 more for the relatively minor uprades of the 550. The 400 & 500 series Samsungs were limited-run, cut-down BF specials IIRC, and the 500 already showing up as "discontinued" on some e-tailers' sites (Crutchfield for one), so I have a feeling it's not gonna be around much longer anyway.
