I take it that the ritek discs are not as good? What companies make good DVD media? What companies are best left avoided? Comments on CD media would be appreciated too. I know that Taiyo Yuden is very well regarded for both their blank DVD and blank CDs, but I'm not certain about other brands like Phillips, Sony, etc.

taiyo yuden, ricohjpn, mcc. those are considered top tier these days i think. ritek quality is usually average.

dont know what some of you are talking about but i've burnt about 300 ritek dvdr and havn't had a single coaster yet and it reads on all my dvd players.

great for you, doesn't change the fact that ritek isn't the best media out there. 🙂

Smokin Gunn, I'm happy for you that yours came in. I ordered two 100 packs back on November 26 (the very day this deal was posted), and mine have not come in. I just checked the order status online, and they say

Delivery estimate: December 11, 2004 - December 21, 2004
