Man my local joints really locked down their terms recently. Sigh.

yeah i havent been able to get the one place in my town to honor mine in about a year now. Sucks.

There used to be 3 places...

but good for most

You should report them to Restaurant.com, they paid to be included and if they aren't honoring their agreement they should be removed and you should be refunded

yeah, even if it was 3 bucks, you should report it and get your $$ back since not only are you helping yourself but your helping future buyers not go through the same hoops you did. But the best thing to do is call the establishment up (not when they are busy); confirm that they still do business with restaurant.com and offer the coupons that you want to purchase...

"Minimum purchase of $50/2 dinner entrees. One per party/table/month. Excludes Holidays. Valid for dinner only. Alcohol and pizza not included."

those are the terms of the place i was going to use it @.

you think this means i must spend 50$ OR two entrees? i could buy two entrees but i dont know how id spend 50$ on dinner for two...

I've always had to have at least 3 people at the table to hit the minimums without eating like a horse. The only time I've hit the minimum with only 2 people was with both of us getting the Surf & Turf and dessert... I woke from the food coma 2 days later 🙂
With the tax the bill was around $55 + $11 tip - $25 coupon + $2 coupon cost = $43, a great deal all the way around.

are you allowed to use 2 coupons in one sitting?

like if theres a 50$ minimum, can i use 2 25$ coupons or is it 50$ minimum for each coupon?

and how long do these coupons last?

only 1 coupon can be used for a meal.

read the fine print / conditions

if the $25 coupon says you must spend $50 on a meal, then you must spend $50 dollars to be able to use the $25 coupon. + any gratuity and etc

The standard terms seem to be only one coupon per party EVEN if the party is sitting at different tables with different checks! I purchased four $10 coupons for about $2.50. The general terms of spending $15 per coupon were listed, but when I printed out the coupons I saw all the fine print essentially saying, one coupon per party (as defined above), per MONTH! It doesn't seem like a good deal unless you go to the restaurant anyway or the coupon is a large discount with a high percentage of the required amount spent. I'm glad I got them, but with the places listed in my town, it's barely warm for me.

Update: I just used one of the four I purchased tonight. I had never been to this place before, and the food wasn't that great. They did take the coupon with no issues at all. I will probably pass on a couple coupons to my in-laws. They like the kind of food served at this particular restaurant more than I do. IF there is a trick to making this a hot deal, it's getting the largest coupon possible at the 80% discount and barely reaching the minimum dollar amount needed to use it. My wife and I could have eaten for about $10 total (which would be a good deal), but we ended up nearly $15 for so-so food after all discounts.

I find it hard to believe that restaurants.com would sell coupons without the restaurant's knowledge.

I've never had any problem using the ones I've purchased, but I've seen some pretty odd terms, like having it be valid 3 days of the week.

Ok, I just bought 4 $50 Restaurant.com gift cards for $16.

I then redeemed 1 of them which credited my account $50. I proceeded to buy 2 $10 gift certificates to a local restaurant.

I will print one out tomorrow and go there for lunch then use the second one next week (new month!).

EDIT: Just an update. It looks like you can only redeem 1 restaurant.com gift card at once. Meaning you can only have the largest gift card amount in your "credits" at one time.

This would mean buying a single $200 gift card would probably be better than 4 $50 ones.

Maybe this needs a sticky, because it recurs the last week of every month with a different super secret (not really) code.
