Here's an interesting little mini-PC deal.

An N2820 NUC, with an advertised NEW 4GB RAM and 120GB SSD, along with Win7 Pro. (I assume pre-installed?)

Altogether, for $190 shipped, doesn't seem like a bad deal. That CPU is pretty slow, and that's only a dual-core.

I do have an N2830 Bay Trail dual-core laptop, with 4GB of RAM, and a 120GB Samsung 850 EVO in it, with Win7 64-bit, and it's fairly bearable for browsing and whatnot.

I saw that but never looked into it too much. Wonder how it'd do with 1080p .mkv or other video files as a media center...hmm...

Perhaps a nice file server if you have external drives, as well.

No offense or anything but what is the point of this kind of system ?

This would make a fine work PC if you want to save on space and do a lot of basic work in Excel, Word, etc. Also, very low power consumption is a huge plus of the system. You're not going to edit 4k video or play AAA games on it but you could set it up in the living room or den and check your email, watch youtube, work on documents, etc with it. It has a place, just not going to fit everyone.

Or set it on my kitchen counter top where I can stream music when I cook. Very useful.

Yeah, I use a J1900 Gigabyte Brix mini-PC (J1900 is an Atom Bay Trail quad-core version, up to 2.4Ghz), with an SSD, in my bedroom as a HTPC.

The allure of this deal (if you can put up with the unit having a few scratches, apparently), is that it comes with the OS, as a package.

Edit: Deal is dead, anyways. Now showing $239.00.
