[DEAD] Rage (PC) for $5

I wouldnt say its an incredible game, but its definitely worth 5 bucks to play through the single player, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
 
Yea, I noticed after my order shipped for Rage, it said Out Of Stock about 5 minutes later. I did however also pick up Crysis 2 for $9.99 and free shipping as well. And now that one says Out Of Stock also. :/
 
Great game, just don't expect high-res textures when viewed up close. From a distance though the game has an incredible aesthetic, I really enjoyed it but again... getting over that initial shock of how bad the textures look up close is critical, after you do that the game is nothing but gravy all the way home. 🙂
 
Still haven't received it, it seems to be stuck in Ohio for the past 3 days.
Newegg's "free" shipping is very odd, I once tried it before, and it came in 3 days, and it was shipped from same warehouse.

Me too...I did think the gameplay was solid and the physics that occurred when you shot something was pretty good. The gun play is one thing ID has a solid hold on, but the story was pretty much non-existant, the characters forgtettable, the scenery pretty boring, and nothing sticks out as memorable.
 
I have little good to say about the game other than i really liked the fire effects and attention to detail. Unfortunately, everything that had so much detail was rather boring to look at if even memorable. Could use more giant boss fights, maybe a town that actually felt like it was populated with anything other than cardboard cutouts of ugly people. wish i waited for the $5 deal before i found all that out.
 
Rage has serious flaws, but I love it nonetheless. Most reviewers gave it around an 8.5 and if you can overlook the low resolution textures and crappy ending it's a solid arcade style game. Very unique in some ways so it can take some patience to figure out how to play it despite it being a simple game.
 
Got the game but having serious AMD driver low fps issues. I am talking 20's fps 1440 res
I have a I-5 @4.5 GHz and 2 7970 crossfire. Using cat 12.8 with latest cap profile.

Googled a lot and it seems this game has a bad history with AMD cards. I think at some point they released driver fix for this game 12.1 I think.

I might have to roll back driver to 12.1 to see if it resolves the low fps issue. Not Sure if the game is worth the trouble.

There was an opengl .dll file that fixed a lot of issues with AMD cards in RAGE. Might do some sort of search for that.

Discovered that If I play in windowed mode the problem goes away.
Currently on max settings 1444p aa4x, FPS pegged at 60fps (limit of game)

I can live playing in windowed mode
 
Finally arrived today.
Curious, it came with a key for wasteland sewer missions, did a quick check on steam, and didn't see this.

Is this a new addition?

I think originally they were planning on selling the sewer missions as a DLC, but decided to just include them with every version.
