our long national nightmare is over!

edit: only a single dvi output? how?

edit2: i guess that makes it a mining special

I saw this deal earlier and actually considered buying it as that's the lowest i've seen an 8GB 580 recently. But, that single DVI-D port kills it. So no multi-monitor and does DVI even support FreeSync and 144Hz? I thought Displayport was needed for that.

Still a good price for just a mining card.

The last time GPU prices fell in late for a brief period November of last year, they priced these stripped down cards pretty low at first, and then the better version fell a few weeks after that. I'd bet by August, many of the the RX 580 cards will be trending downward to this price point. I know I grabbed a MSI Gaming X RX 580 for around $220 before the prices exploded in December.

Exciting times, and now if RAM prices would fall faster, the DIY market should be much better off the rest of the year. :)

Well, GREAT price, although I did get a 4GB XFX RX 570 card (with XFX optional dual-BIOS containing a mining BIOS in the other position), supposedly "NEW" on ebay from a seller, for $200 after the 20% site-wide coupon last month or so.

A 580 8GB for nearly the same price (OK, with rebate), from Newegg themselves, is progress.

This is clearly a mining card, though, with the single DVI-D output.

And of course, UGH, PowerColor. I will buy any other brand of AMD RX-series card BUT PowerColor. Read reviews around the 'net to find out why.

I just read on Slickdeals that this card is also downclocked from reference.

Dang i hadn't noticed that but yeah, it doesn't even list the base clock, just the boost clock at 1215MHz. Most of the models i just looked at are in the mid 1300's.

That's because they use cheaper (inferior?) VRMs and stuff, so they downclock their cards to keep them from burning up.

(Hence one of the reasons I said I don't purchase Powercolor cards.)
