PowerColor RED DRAGON Radeon RX 570 DirectX 12 AXRX 570 4GBD5-DHDV3/OC 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support ATX Video Card
+ $10 off w/ promo code 93XQB94, limited offer

Looks like Newegg got in some PowerColor shipments lately. Check out my other thread for the RX 5700XT Red Dragon cards for $429.99 + $6.99 too. (Those are even better for mining. This one being only 4GB, not so great for mining.)

Too much for a 4GB card IMO.

I would consider this particular card, given it is lack-luster for mining (can't mine the most profitable coin, ETH, right now because the DAG is around or greater than 4GB in size now), a bit on the pricey side, but given current GPU shortages, it's actually difficult to find a NEW card, RX 570/580, for less than $200. XFX and BestBuy used to have stock on ebay last week of 4GB RX 570 cards for $180-$220, but they're all sold out as far as I can tell now.

Yeah, it's not a great price range for buying a new card. In that range, I would look for deals on used Hawaii, Polaris, or Fiji cards.

Hawaii cards? LOL. Power consumption on those, not so great. I wouldn't personally go older than Polaris, but I'm coming at it from a mining perspective. In fact, for mining purposes, I got rid of my Polaris cards, even those were too inefficient for me. But I hadn't learned yet how to properly undervolt using Wattman. Maybe things would be different if I had kept them. Then again, most of them were only 4GB cards. I don't buy 4GB cards for mining anymore. I'm even concerned about the "mining longevity" of my 6GB RX 5600XT and GTX 1660 ti cards. Hopefully they will be good for another two years worth of mining ETH, at least until ETH 2.0 / PoS eliminates the possibility of mining it anymore.

Edit: I guess, given the current cost climate for GPUs, Hawaii wouldn't be the worst thing in the world for gaming purposes. They may have been power-hungry, but they've largely still got the chops for gaming.

Yeah, Hawaii uses a bit more power than Polaris, but if you get an 8GB card, you can still mine on those with an undervolt. The r9 390 was a great deal back in the day, and now it looks like there are a few good ones for sale at under $200. These are 8GB cards, I expect performance to be on par with an RX 580, at least for gaming, though mining may also be very similar. They just use a bit more power.

For someone who needs a cheap card for gaming, and maybe mining on the side, at least until normalcy is restored and a new card can be found, the 390 is still a decent find. And one advantage over Polaris cards, is you won't need to keep toggling game vs compute mode in the radeon drivers, when switching between them. I think you still need to do that with Polaris.

Man, there was a cache of Fury Nanos a few months ago on eBay going for $100 shipped each, I should have bought a couple.

As long as you aren't mining, they would be super-fine with 1080p gaming. Ah well, the good old days when old hardware was cheap.
