Dead Power Supply?

I just purchased a refurb IWill KK266 motherboard from NewEgg. I installed it today and I attached a harddrive, ram, graphics card, cpu and heatsink to test it.

When I tried to power on NOTHING happened. No fans were spinning...nothing. 🙁

I just wanted to confirm that I have a dead power supply. Also, why would by power supply all of the sudden die while I'm changing motherboards?

My power supply is an Antec 300W and I was also wondering if anyone here knows if there is a warranty on it because it is about 6 months old.

Thanks for all your help.

I was also wondering...if i DO have to buy a new power supply...will the Enermax PSU fit into the Antec SX830?

1. Refurb = trouble

2. When you installed the new mobo were there any unused standoffs under the mobo that could be shorting it out?

3. Did you use standoffs, or were they already there?

4. Remove and replace everything, including the mobo.

5. Stick small nails into the power supply mobo connector and gently touch your tongue to it. If you wake up in the emergency room you will know that the PSU is good. If you wake up in a lake of fire to the smell of burning flesh and the sound of gnashing teeth you will know that you didn't live a very good life and you no longer need to worry about whether your power supply is on the fritz.

Edit: No. 5 is a tongue in cheek joke and noone should ever touch live electrical components to their tongue or any other part of their body.
