I think I killed my power supply by over loading it is there anyway to test if the powersupply I don't have another to swap out and try. When I plug in the computer it does nothing also the power button does nothing. The computer was working fine so I powered it down to plug in the floppy drive which I forgot about after adding a new hard drive now it is dead anyone have any idea what else could go wroung. I disconnected the floppy and that didn't help.

you can test it to see if it isn't the computer, you do that by using a staple, or something else that conducts electircy and connect it with the ground pin and purple wire pin, the mobo connector.

I'll say it again. Buying a 'cheap' power supply is playing Russian roulette with your system. A good power supply is where you should spend a LOT more. Your idea of a lot is different than mine. For a general rule, don't spend less than double what you are willing to pay. It will buy you peace of mind and a power supply you can migrate to your next system. Recommendations: Vantec (Stealth series), Antec, and Enermax all make good supplies. Please, I beg you, don't skimp on this purchase.
