(DEAD) Polaroid 24x10x40 "USB 2.0 external" $124.99 - $30 MIR - $25 off $100 OfficeMax coupon = $74.99 at OfficeMax. Also there's a $30 off $150 on-line only OfficeMax coupon and printable Staples $30 off $150 or $20 off $100 coupons available.

If you live in the L.A. area Fry's currently has the "CenDyne" 24x10x40 USB 2.0 external drive on sale for $99.99 after a $40 MIR.

For OfficeMax coupons do a search on Google.com key word "OfficeMax coupons"

This Polaroid 24x external drive may be mfg by BTC or sometimes Acer. To identify which mfg drive is in the box look for the words "MTK Superlink" for the BTC drive and if it says "Seamless Link" it's a Acer mfg drive.

To use the $25 off $100 coupon in the store print-out the page with a $25 off $100 coupon on it, or print the page showing the price of the drive with the $25 coupon discount taken off the price and take that to your local store, and ask your one of those friendly OfficeMax manages if he will accept the coupon the $25 off $100 coupon, so you can purchase the drive from him. This has worked many time before, for a number of poeple, but it up the to manage to decide to accept the $25 coupon or not.

Another idea is to buy it in the store is to using the staples $30 off $150 printable coupon at a OfficeMax stores (they are suppose to take them).

I bought their internal version and it sucked. The audio CD's that I burned skipped. I think the overall Polariod rating is pretty low here.

Did you try using burning different media brands, or try playing the CD in a number of different CD players?
Also try updating your burning program.

Does anyone know if this is a rebadged drive or something?? If it's manufactured by Polaroid, I"ll stay as far away as possible. :)

Yes! the Polaroid drives are rebadged drives, all that Polaroid does is put their name on the box, a company named Disk Fusion Technologies distributes the Polaroid drives. LINK

Read the part that says "USB 2.0 connectivity"
>>

um sorry to burst ur bubble but "USB 2.0 connectivity" dosen't mean it HAS to be external. USB 2.0 could also be INTERNAL.. My USB 2.0 pci card has 4 externals and 1 internal. So... I don't think this thing is external.

Do a search on OfficeMax.com using the Polaroid 24x10x40 item number in the ad and then tell us what you find.

All of you are right. OM put up the wrong pic of an internal drive. The external unit SKU is 20149910, which lists for $179, so it is onsale for $129 with $30 rebate, comes out 99, which the ad says a saving of $80. While the SKU of the internal drive is 20149901, lists for $129, with $30 rebate and $10 IR, comes out $89.

Before any of you grab this drive, you might wanna do a search on Anandtech for polaroid. My Dad got this drive a couple weeks ago, without checking with me, and it was POS. It also was a BTC. He printed out the Anandtech thread showing how POS it was, and his OM let him return it, even though he had removed the UPC. They gave him his $$'s back, less the rebate for the UPC. Fair enough.
