UPDATE #4: recieved my $30 rebate check on 10/10. Less than 25 days, wow, a new world record!

UPDATE #3: I got 10711 3DMarks(2001SE) out of this card o/c'd to 300/560, beat Ti 4600 cards at the same clock speed by 2%!!!
XP1600+ @1609MHz (roughtly XP1900+)

UPDATE #2: It seems lots of estBuy are OOS, here is the tip for getting it from CompUSA. Have BestBuy people print you a copy of Price Verification slip, bring this to CompUSA, normally if you request a pricematch with a competitor, it is the policy that CompUSA has to check the price and availablity from the competitor by a phone call. If you provide the Price Verification slip from BestBuy, they will usually price match it without calling BestBuy.

UPDATE: BestBuy now has a $30 MIR after its $129 B&M shelf price too, no price match necessary. Don't buy it online since it's $199.99 there. Thanks mechsiah and Danzilla for the update.

CompUSA has this card for $199.99 - $40IR = $159 before $30MIR, price match to BestBuy's in-store price $129.99(Bestbuy.com priced higher at $199.99, this is their not advertized in-store special), and you get the card for less than $100.

The card has VGA + DVI and TV out. On the box it prints "Crushes Ti-4200 128M performance" with it's 500MHz memory clock rate.

It seemed like a while back the PNY GF4 Ti4200s were bad or something to stay away from or had a problems that were only in one batch. it was a couple months ago, anyone know anything about this or remember it? definately hot if its on par with all the other ti4200s but not if its flaky.

Hmmm,

PNY Geforce 4's are basically the same as reference cards. And most companies use the reference card design. I wouldn't think there is anything wrong with the PNY Ti4200. Only difference between manufacturers are what brand RAM is used and what kind of heatsink/fan is on it.

Whats the sense in $40 instant rebate if you can price match to $129. There is no instant rebate after that

the point is in COmpusa $30 rebate after pricematching to $129. This means that total would be $99+tax AR

The only problem I recall was the one where some of the geforce 4 graphics cards wouldn't fit into some epox motherboards. I forget whose fault it ended up being... I think the motherboard had some slighltly out of spec capacitors.
Anyway, the 4200 wouldn't be affected by this, its on a differant PCB than the 4400 and 4600 that were affected.

Hot!

If any of you fools try to come into CompUSA and say, "BB has this for $129," and you get smacked with a trout by the cashier, you'll know that you're talking to me :D

By the way, the "problem" with the GF4 cards was that Epox was putting out boards that were poorly designed. If I recall correctly, they put the AGP slot right beside a couple components that were sticking up, preventing you from fitting certain cards in them. It wasn't PNY's fault, it was Epox's. Their design did not meet the industry standard.

A tip for the pricematchers: Have Bestbuy print you a copy of Price Verification slip, and bring it the CompUSA, the cashier was so happy that I did that, saved her a phone call.

The only cards at Fred Meyer for that price were the GF4 MX cards from PNY. The TI4200 was listed at $199.

Well, it appears that Best Buy has added a rebate of their own that drops this to $99, so forget about the PM. Fatbaby was right...

$99 for a TI4200 is pretty darn nifty.
