this guy did some research on dead pixels, he's got some interesting qoutes: here
really makes me mad that i shell out for the top line of a laptop and my lcd is riddled with dead pixels, and i already have had to replace the cdrw/dvd drive. ive had it for 3 days.
Dell offers a 30 day, no questions asked, you just pay the shipping back return window. Since I usuaully buy dell laptops, this works out well for me. I haven't gotten a laptop yet with any kind of screen problem.
When I got my first ASUS, I found a couple of dead pixels right in the middle. Took it back the next day. It went back to the agents who returned it saying that it was acceptable. My responce was "make it good or give me a refund". Next day I had a new screen fitted, no problems.
yea. i just called the wrong number. tech support could only service the screen. need to call customer service. since this happened within 30 days i got to return it for a full refund and then just ordered a new one. even got a bag of free promotional items i missed out on the first time.
i find it odd though in all the research i did before buying a laptop i hadn't come across anything about dead pixels.
