Dead Pixel Question

I just ordered my new ViewSonic VP171b-2 on newegg and it shipped with one dead pixel. At first, I didn't mind because it was stuck blue, so I never really noticed it. But now it has changed to red everytime I turn off the monitor and turn it on again. I have to rub it extensively to get it to turn blue again. Is this normal, for it to change colors like that? I dont mind it being blue, but red, ahhh, it's so bright and slapping me in the face.
 
ya, its normal for stuck pixels to change color and go on and off every once in awhile. its a risk you take buying an LCD unfortunately- hopefully companies have better quality control in the near future
