Anyone has experience with Compaq laptop return? :( How easy is it to return a refurbished laptop? It still has 90 day warranty on it...I hope they take care of my problem. My new lappy :(

They might have a policy where you have to have a certain number of dead pixels in order to get a replacement. Ask your cousin.

Read the warranty specifically the section on dead pixels. If you have any questions, call the number provided.

How many dead pixels?

All the retailers and manufacturers I know won't take back an LCD unless there are something like 5 total on the screen or 3 within a square inch. It's part of what you get with LCDs, just like the stabilizers on apeture grills.

How about because you got a cheap refurbished laptop? No dead pixels on the 1600x1200 screen on my 3.5 year old ThinkPad. Very first ThinkPad offered with that screen too and IBM got it right.

There are reasons why some brands command their price premiums.

I have had IBM laptops with dead pixels before. Some people are lucky some people are not.

I see Compaq, HP and IBM laptops with dead pixels all the time
