In this case that is good thing. The original units had faulty lasers. Philips replaced the lasers on the ones they had in stock, so a lot of these never left the warehouse. The refurbs have the new laser modules installed.
 
The product is so-so. I own the next version with USB, but not the latest with USB2.0. It would probably made a world of difference. They are slow to "boot up", but, otherwise ok. "Ghetto" menus too. 🙂 Can't beat the price, though.
The reason for my comment is not the product, but the sales pitch. Every time I think that folks at woot have outdone themselves, they do it again. This one definitely deserves a praise. LMAO!!!:laugh:
