edit: (3/3/04) I just noticed the rebate form they gave at the registers doesn't have a limit for amount of rebates...so if you got a few drives I would try and get all the rebates...the thick rebate booklet also shows a different address(and state) to submit to. For those that had the rebate form print at the registers..what address is it going to?

Don't forget to use any OD or staples coupons you have, I used a $15 off $75 staples and got this drive for $10 AR/AC/after tax.

nope. All the threads have reported that a certain serial # was a black 851S, but mine was a beige 851S so I think it's random. Even weirder, I picked up what everyone said was a beige 811S, and when I opened it it's a beige 851S.

yes some come in black bezel.. there are some NEC, lite-on (probably most common), and btc even.
you can tell pretty much what you'll get based on the serial #... you can find out more on FW.. there are some big threads on this already.
