Not bad, this is a good alternative to the Coolermast Cent 5 from newegg for $45 (and $15 for shipping).

Ugh, I just ordered an antec p180 from best buy....which does review a ton better and (personal opinion) look better, but now I have to decide if it's worth 4x as much because of this hot hot deal =x

edit: yah too good to pass up and bb has a 30 day return policy so gonna return it and get this case. thanks a bunch OP!

PS I want to point out the reviews on neweggs site...not that it's a surprise, but it doesn't look like you should count on using that smart power power supply for more than a few months before it will crash and burn. Not that it matters for my conroe system as 350w prolly won't do the trick for me anyways.

Can't speak for the quality after a few months, but 350W should be plenty. From this article:

The most amount of power measured from a video card was 76W with the 6800 Ultra at full load with an over clock. Let's round that up to 80 for easier math. You'll get 160W from the video. Now the highest powered AMD processor on the market right now dissipates a maximum of 89W. So between your video cards and processor, you're drawing 250W. Hard drives draw not much more than 30W when they spin up, but once spinning, they only draw about 10W each. That's about it. Most of the other accessories like Sound Card, Ethernet, draw at most 10W and far more likely, just 1W if even that. So with a 6800 Ultra SLI system plus 4 hard drives, you're drawing maybe around 300W total. And if you're actually using 6800GT, drop about 20W per video card, or 260W total. Still think you need a 500W power supply?

Of course, newer video cards draw more power, but not by much. And conroes are relatively energy efficent at 65W.

yah I shoulda been more clear...I'm also hooking up 2xWD raptors and 2x300GB Seagate drives + 1xDVDROM, 1xDVDRW and a few fans....I guess maybe it's just me, but I prefer higher watts and something more reliable than the tons of horrible reviews on there make it look like it can't handle much at all especially over any long period of time.

Isn't the best PSU, but it is better then what most brands include in their cases. 350W should be enough to handle the following:

Any CPU but P4 EE
7800GT and under (this includes all the 7900 cards)
No RAID
Light water cooling

If your system draws more power then the above then I wouldn't use a 350W PSU for it.

i'd be worried about keeping those drives cool.

Just a quick heads up that Outpost has had major issues on orders going to "Order New" and now downloading to their processing system. They don't seem to be able to recover these orders (I've got one from two years ago still stuck there) and several on FW including myself had this happen. One member of FW was advised to order again as the orders would probably not be recoeverd. I ordered again and will monitor the original order, however the case is now in backorder status. According to the CSR, there are only 10 backorders though so it might not be bad.

Good luck!

Yah I just called them as well bc I never got a confirmation email and they said to just put the order in again...this is for many orders on the 19th. If you ordered another day shouldn't be a problem

Wait, what? So how are we supposed to know if our order went through or not? My status shows "in process" and I've also yet to get an e-mail notification. Was I supposed to? If I wasn't e-mailed does that mean I'm gonna have to order again?

I'm about to be fvcking pissed if I find out my order didn't go through and I have to wait for them to restock. Somebody at Outpost is gonna get kicked in the fvcking nuts.

Go to Outpost and click on the "Track Your Order" page. Enter your e-mail and password in the "lower" (checking all) boxes. All of your current/previous orders should show up including this one. If it's listed as "Order New", it's probably not going to go through. If it's listed as anything else (other than possibly backordered) including "In process", etc., then it's probably OK (no guarantee that it's still not backordered though).

Oh alright, thanks for the info. Hopefully my order'll be alright since it's not labeled "Order New". But if it does go to backorder, those SOBs better get me one at the after rebate price upfront when they do get a restock.

You have until 9/22/06 to postmark the rebate. I doubt that Outpost would take that long if they were going to get more of these units.

Time will tell and good luck! :)

I actually have that for my stepfathers rig. Really solid little case for the money. Although the PSU was DOA....

The way he confirmed my order did not go through is that the order # I gave him simply did not exist when he tried to pull it up =p I would call 1-877-OUTPOST just to be sure if you are that worried about your order. The CSR I talked to said a) if you did not get a confirmation or b) the website says New Order then there is a good chance you need to redo it. Dont kill the messenger just relaying what he told me =p He might have been mistaken and at the end of the phone call he did say "just in case if you DO get a email confirmation or it ships out to you then call us back right away"

Meh, looks like my order never went through. Dicks, I'm not even gonna bother reordering, I'll take my business elsewhere.

I ordered one of these puppies, but also got messed up by the Saturday server glitch. I called 1-877-OUTPOST on Monday and ordered another. Received the 'backorder' email. Spoke with a CSR today who indicated that new stock should be arriving on 9/12. That means that rebate should still work (as long as ordered before 8/22). Holding thumbs...
