Dead or Alive 4 = rediculous

So... I know DoA is all about timing and counters, but it doesn't help when there's no tutorial mode to show you what is 'proper timing'. I can counter normal attacks, but what about countering counters and/or throws/holds? I thought that could be done but I can't figure out how.

Also, it seems that my character is never able to counter in the middle of a combo when the PC players seem to have no problem with it. My guy it too busy holding his face to try blocking anymore... so whenever a combo starts going I just get to sit back and watch him get destroyed. Is there a way to start countering a combo or am I just screwed?

Thanks for that... you're a fountain of information who just doesn't stop giving... or a bastard coated bastard with bastard filling, and a side order of bastard sauce. I'm not sure which.

what I mean by that: is there a reason you said that? I'm new to the series on honestly don't know. If it's a dumb question... say why.

i'm going to take a guess and say that it's because you spelled "ridiculous" wrong.

Yep, it's a reference to mugs' signature.
