Dead of Brain cancer-at age 3.

A former coworker of mine at a newspaper in Mansfield, Ohio, documented the story of a young boy who developed brain cancer last year. He spent 12 months documenting the life-and death two weeks ago-of a little boy named Luke. If you are interested, I encourage you to see the photos and read the story of this amazing little kid. I met him once and seeing the photos tonight for the first time really brought me to tears.

oh god. i dont think i could handle that. my daughter has siezures every now and then. i thought that was hard enough.

but to lose them? sigh. =(

My wife works on the bone marrow transplant floor and they are about to lose a 3 year old. The boy has spent almost 2 years of his life in the hospital. These things should just not happen to kids.

Yes, the parents of this boy finally decided no more operations because they knew he would eventually die (the tumor was completely unoperable) and they wanted him to at least have a little peace before he went.

Man, I'm all depressed now.

I have a daughter who just turned 9 months old this week, and I can tell you, I'm sitting here picturing her in that little boy's place.......and I feel horrible for those parents.
I don't think I could continue if something like that happened to my daughter.
