Best deal I've seen on this drive so far. This is one of the only two SSD's I'd actually consider buying right now (the other being the Intel X25M of course). Keep in mind Intel has been rumored to be releasing new SSD's soon, so there *could* be some price drops coming...

OCZ Vertex 60GB

$219.99
-$22.66 10.3% Bing CB
-$30 Rebate
+1.99 shipping
----
$169.32 TOTAL

To trigger the Bing CB, go to bing.com and search for "video cards". You should get a Tigerdirect sponsored link for 10.3% cashback. After you are redirected to Tigerdirect, just search for "Vertex 60GB" and add it to your cart.

According to discussion in this thread, the Agility series user slower/cheaper/less durable flash chips. They're comparable, but not the same.

Subflava = my new best friend.

Also, my worst enemy :(

Hopefully this deal will be alive tommorow.

I would also consider the Patriot TorqX. It is basically exactly the same thing as the Vertex, but with a 10 year warranty. :D

How did that one fly below the radar? It seems that only OCZ gets the publicity of the only widely known drive with the magic Indillix controller... Despite the G.Skill Falcon also sporting the same exact controller, among others I am sure. I picked up one of the falcon's for my dad last fathers day. So far the thing has been great for him.

And... BTW - Great deal OP. But if you can wait (not saying anyone should) I'd ride out a few more months, maybe wait until next spring because I have a strong feeling that people will be picking up 128GB drives for around $199 or less. Pair two of them together in RAID 0, have blistering fast 256GB logical drive. That will be my next upgrade - for sure.

You'll drop another $300 for controller, unless you wanna bottleneck those nice SSDs with a wanna-be-RAID-controller on your mobo (let alone degrade CPU performance).

the x25-m is dope. doesn't use ram for write cache. vertex is tweaked for benchmarks. in real life you know intel has the lead.

plus notice all the benchmarks are on the 120gb version of vertex. never do you see 60gb or 30gb benchmarks. at one point they had half cache ; not any more but they don't have as many channels.

i'd use the x25-m/x18-m all day long for reliability.

remember graphics cards in early days of benchmarks? oddly they got amazing results.

do your own real life tests..

Wow, that's basically one big thread crap with a little "look at me" thrown in.

I've thought about this and have come to the conclusion that OCZ has the most fanbois who drink their cool-aid and permeate forums with their chant. :p

(almost like EVGA fanbois, but I really shouldn't get into that, LOL)

Despite the blindfold, Binky call this one accurately.
