I know that the Intel models are still faster than the OCZ models but the OCZ model is still very fast. Now armed with TRIM, it's inching up, especially in the price/performance area.

You can get the Intel 80GB for roughly the same price per GB using 10% Bing cash back via eBay. I would like to have more than 80GB but it's a tough call. Been on the fence for several days now.

The Indilinx SSDs (of which this is one) are just slightly below the Intel SSDs in performance. If you could get 120GB of this one for the price of an Intel X25-M G2 80GB, I'd go with the bigger one.

Oops, I missed the "per GB" phrase you had thrown in there. If they're similar in $/GB, it really just comes down to how much space you need. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to get the OCZ if you feel you need more than 80GB.

Bing is currently 10% for eBay so that factors in..but the best G2 Intel 160GB model is around $455 right now.

Just an FYI on OCZ SSDs... 1.41 is not TRIM, but GC (Garbage Collection) mode. 1.4 is what it ships with, which supports TRIM.

For those considering using this in a striped RAID-0 array, you'll want to flash to 1.41, because no RAID-0 setups support TRIM yet.

I'm currently running 2x 60GB Agilities in RAID-0. For SSDs, you basically double your read/write speeds (well, effectively each added drive multiplies the throughput).

That said, this is a great price!

As I understand it, when the drive is idle, it performs the job of cleaning up data and organizing it better... they recommend you leave the system on a logon prompt overnight, if it starts slowing down.

It would be nice if somebody figured out the best optimizations under Windows 7, too... I've performed some tweaks, but my attempt to move my Users folder to my platter drive failed miserably. At least TEMP and the paging file are moved.

OCZ's tech forums also recommend Diskeeper with Hyperfast... I'm running the trial version, but I have no idea if it's doing anything useful.

Either way, you probably won't notice the difference without a stopwatch. I personally would go with a TRIM-supported drive with the lowest price per GB.

The drive can run either trim or gc. All you have to do is flash it.

I recently switched from a 300bg velociraptor to the agility 120 and I gotta say, its a lot faster.

Son of a ..... it's back in stock but the $100 off code didn't work. I googled the code and found it expired yesterday :|

I chatted online with newegg.. no new codes either. Oh well. I read on FW these were $299 without any rebates or coupons a few months ago. Might as well just wait for them to drop back down, however long that will be.

I don't think it's coincidence that the drive is back in stock now that the code is expired. Pretty much all these big coupon discounts from Newegg essentially drop the prices down to the levels they were a few months ago. There's price gouging going on, whatever the reason.
