Just FYI, I can't speak about these earrings but I ordered a pair of "pearl" earrings for $5 from 1saleaday once and threw them away because the quality was so bad. I'm pretty sure the pearls were plastic. If these turn out to be decent let us know.

The retail price on these is a joke, it's probably closer to $50.
I bet you can find something like these for $20 on E-Bay or a local Pawn etc.

White topaz is cheap and soft (relatively)...so not ideal for rings and such that will get more abuse. For an earring (or stud) these should do O.K. and if they are decent enough may pass as a diamond stud since you wont get a good look at them like you would a ring.

In for one as well. My wife isn't picky about jewelry and would be excited to get some twigs glued onto a pair of studs.

These are terrible. Got my fieancee a thriple set of these. The quality is very very poor, the backs aren't made correctly for the posts and fell right off even after tightening them.

At $2.50 per stone you could just visit a jewelry store and have them remounted in another cheap setting. Still wouldn't be a bad deal. As long as the stones are decent...if they look like they've been chiseled out by a 5 year old then no.

Probably have a couple grams of silver in them too...sterling is 90%. Could be close to $5 there. ~31 grams per troy oz.

Yeah, the raw materials alone make this a good deal. White topaz is normally around $3-5 per carat.

But be aware what you're getting. This deal is nice if you like topaz as a stone (as I do) or birthstone. But aesthetically, white topaz looks a lot like... glass. The item description says "fiery sparkle," which is simply untrue: topaz is near glass in index of refraction (sparkle when cut) and dispersion (fire when cut).

If you're looking for flashy-but-cheap, the best deal bar none is actually cubic zirconia. And it's cheap only in the sense of inexpensive. CZ is equal or superior to diamond in every aesthetic category; most jewelers need instruments to distinguish the two. For flawless color, flawless clarity, flawless cut at $1/carat, CZ is an amazing technology.

I grabbed 2 of these at the $5 price. Wife can wear these while traveling and not worry about losing them or having them stolen from the hotel room. :)

Has anyone that ordered these had them actually ship yet?
It seems that the seller has a history of issuing "tracking numbers" and then not shipping the item for another week.

They are slow but they always show up. Can be 2 weeks after the tracking # I would probably buy more of their stuff if they weren't so slow. It looks like more companies would figure this out. I ordered an item recently and nothing happened for 10 days and I called and they said it was "scheduled" to ship in about a week. I asked if they didn't know that in that length of time it could be shipped from virtually anywhere in the world. They appeared disinterested. Which is what I am concerning their company henceforth!

I had the same experience. I love these companies that instantly charge you, then take weeks to ship an item. Sometimes, they don't even have the item when they sell it to you.

they don't place the order with the jewelry manufacturer until they get an order. then they have to wait for the guy to go down to mexico to pick up a shipment.

I got mine today, haven't really looked at them before heading to work but they seem decent.

edit:
gave a pair to my daughter, she liked them. the other two are for my gf and her daughter. and since they're suppose to be sterling silver mounts I doubt there will much trouble with infections.

Well, in that case you have to deal with the original manufacturer, of the ears.

I got mine over the weekend. Decent quality (can't complain for $5). It's not really Newegg anyways, essentially a online company selling through Newegg. Not really any different than a third-party seller on Amazon or eBay.
