Does anyone know the ratio of DP to SP on the 280? On my HD4850 cards, it's 1/8th of SP. Makes for some speedy MW@H WUs with two cards. I'm not sure that the 280 would be that big of an improvement on that. (HD4850 are 800SPs).

Edit: According to Wikipedia:
Double precision performance of Hawaii is 1/8 of single precision performance,[41] Tahiti is 1/4 of single precision performance, others 28 nm chip is 1/16 of single precision performance.

So R9 280 is 1/4 SP for DP, very nice! Would be a solid upgrade then for me.

$140 now as a $30 rebate is good for any purchases today and tomorrow. An R9 280 for $140 is insane.

Great deal, but I swore I'd never buy another Powercolor card after my 6870 went bad after two years of light use.

Deal is back for $130 AR. Rebate expires 12/2.

I've had mine for a few weeks now and I'm very happy with it. It's been a good overclocker.

It would be a huge upgrade for MW@H. Also, HD7950 overclocks to 1.1-1.2Ghz with that cooler.

Funny how in the VC&G forum, some users were trying to say for months now how 750/750Ti were good cards are $100-150. With deals like R9 270 for $100, R9 280 for $130-150, 750Ti makes no sense even at $80, unless one has an anemic PSU with no 6-pin connector, in which case it's probably fair to say the entire system is old (old CPU and probably slow mechanical drive).
