Hi,

my laptop is a packard bell dot (same as the acer aspire one zg5) equipped with a hannstar j mv-4 94v, I disassembled it to fix a wireless module problem, then when i assembled it back and put on the battery the power and charge leds flash for a second and nothing happens when i try to power it on.
same reaction happens when i plug on the power supply or put on the battery.
even the battery doesn't seem to charge anymore (its indicator just flashes for a second as i said)

here's a video: http://youtu.be/ZpjB0Q9bVkU

any help or suggestion?

Thanks,

laptop problems are a terrible pain, normally because there isn't too many parts... so if one thing goes wrong the whole system is compromised.

my acer 5742z had a line in the screen... I tried to fix that but when I was wiggling the monitor cable it popped out, and apparently shorted the motherboard.

no video, no post on external monitor either! new mainboard+lcd panel is $170... which I can buy a similar laptop for used! so im not even fixing mine... im parting it out and buying a used lappy :(

Seems like a short the way it instantly shuts off. Do you have the memory, or any other pieces misaligned? If you have a multimeter, disconnect all power and check across each of the voltages. 3.3, 5v, etc and see if any read 1ohm or less. My sister's laptop was acting like yours and it was caused by a cracked/shorted ceramic capacitor.
