So my one room kinda smells funky, and has on and off for months now.

Ceiling is exposed concrete, and walls are drywall. I have no idea what's behind either, or how stuff is actually built (I'm assuming there is space between each floor, concrete or not, for wiring and such).

Anyway, would it be possible for there to be a dead mouse in my ceiling, and given that concrete is porous (it is, right?), the odour leaks into my room every now and again? Not to mention there are speakers and such in the ceiling, so that's another way for the odour to leak in.

It's a condo building by the way, only a few years old.

If it is indeed a dead animal, I have no idea what they can possibly do to get rid of it. I'm just glad I'm renting at the end of the day.

It's probably bigger than a mouse if it's been that long. We had a squirrel die in an old rental house and it smelled for a couple of months.

Since you're renting, call your landlord. It's his/her problem

Yea a mouse will dry up pretty quick. To smell that long would have to be much bigger.

Call the landlord as could be other issues that need looking at.
