I'm trying to help a sister out with her computer. After she moved it from one room to another, it wouldn't boot.

I've had her disconnect everything, including the psu from the motherboard and reconnect, but no boot. We've also reset the cmos.

I'm assuming its the psu or motherboard, probably the psu. However green led light on the motherboard is on. My belief is that this doesn't rule out the psu at all, and could still easily be the culprit.

Is the psu still a strong possibility? (statistically speaking that is)

Only way to know is to hook up a different PSU to the same board ... no boot could also be CPU (bad RAM/no RAM will usually beep at you). Also see if you can use a different video card or onboard graphics if you have them ... how do you know it's not booting or posting? Maybe the video card is bad.

Basically there are several possibilities and the easiest way (if possible) is to determine the cause by process of elimination.

Nothing happens when she turns the computer on (altho the motherboard led light is on inside.)
