That's an even better deal, IMHO. I was wondering where you found that. I sorted by "Low Price", and the ones I posted were the cheapest combos in that sale section. Obviously, you found an even cheaper one. Thanks for posting it!

that's even better than microcenter's 1600X blowout pricing
*must not upgrade server must not upgrade server but ivybridge is so old must not upgrade server*
I am tempted too. I run a 3770. The 1600 is not much faster (at least that is what I keep telling myself). I have been telling myself that for years and years.

I think MC is still a bit better- 1600 is 80.00 and Asrock B450M Pro4 is 70.00 minus the 30.00 bundle discount. Now that NE charges sales tax in my state, they have lost their 7% advantage over MC. But, still a great deal if you have no MC nearby.

I'm very tempted to jump on this -- but is it better to wait for the next gen Ryzen procs, even if they are entry level? I don't need anything too fancy for my son but figure if I'm buying, might as well buy something a little future proofed.

i had itx prices in my head because i'd been looking at those (my itx computer has a quad core haswell so the r1600 would be a bit more of a side grade, though it'd triple the thread count).

The two combos that I explicitly listed in the OP are still showing as valid combos. So, just because Newegg took down the "50th Anniv. Event Sale Combos" listing, doesn't mean that the combos are invalid, as per OP. It does mean that they may be extremely difficult to find if they aren't listed anywhere, however.

The combo that DaveyBrat listed, however, is gone.
