Dead mobo symptoms?

Are these symptoms of a dead motherboard?
Windows XP installation stalls.
Formatiing stalls for hours.
keyboard or mouse stops working.
Windows can't install on the partition because the disk is damaged.

My system worked great for a month, then started to crap out with keyboard errors.

Any help? Thanks in advance.
