Saw this on slickdeals, it is a smoking awesome deal for a BIG TV. If you go to the Dell link above, it is $800, but Bing cashback is now at 20% off for Dell, so you will save $160 to make it $640 for this TV plus tax in some states I think. Best Buy has this same TV for $800 but no cashback, if your local BB still has them in stock, you could always check it out first before you think about buying it through Dell.

Slickdeal thread with a bunch of information and people posting that bought this TV:

How to get Bing cashback?

Go to Bing.com then type Dell into the search box. You will see dell listed as a sponsored link at the top. Click on the Dell link. A box will pop up asking for your email and to type in the code that is shown. If you don't see the box you will need to turn off your adblocker program. At dell search for WD60C9 then add to cart. Save another 3% by signing up for and using the Dell Preferred Account Card. And WOOT!

For free shipping: Don't forget to choose 3 - 5 day shipping.

DLP rear projection? Ehh, it's really big, but I don't really like that technology. Ima have to pass on this one.

If people are down for this setup, tho, it's a nice deal... Nice up!

DLP technology is pretty good, most people would be very satisfied with the picture quality. Reviews for the TV around the net on places like Amazon are favorable. No place exist where can you buy a 60" LCD or Plasma that comes close to this price. The TV set only weighs 64lbs as well, so it's not like one of those old CRT TV's in the 90's that were huge and weighed a ton.

Remember though, Best Buy has a good delivery policy (they'll take up any number of stairs, etc), put in place, and remove the retail box, etc. They also have a liberal 30day return policy, so if you don't like the TV they'll come and pick it up and actually get it, and give you a full refund. If that's worth the extra money, then you might want to go with BB instead.

I love my 60" Mitts DLP. Works great for gaming. Black levels are awesome. You can't touch them without a high dollar plasma setup. You just have to be ready to shell out 120.00 every few years for a new bulb. That is a screaming deal. I am tempted to pick up a second one at that price.

How long does it take to get the bing money back? I did not see the bing symbol when I ordered. I have never used it before.

I just used bing cashback for the first time on my black friday computer upgrades at newegg, so here's the skinny:

go to bing.com
on the left side of the page you will see several different options: explore, shopping, images, video, etc. click on the shopping tab.
on the top left of the screen you will see the cashback stores heading. click that.
look up your store (dell in this case).
At this point you will find out that you are screwed because dell is not on this program any more. however, if they WERE on it you would click the dell icon and be redirected to another bing page. there they would prompt you for an email address and your msn logon id (I used my hotmail account), then redirect you to dell.com.
shop and you'll get an email the next day like I did with your cashback amount. You don't get the money for 60 days.

I got the redirect when I hit the Dell link. I guess I need to be patient. The people on the SD forum said it takes about 24 hours for the CB to show up in your account. Thanks for the info.

Ordered one, hopefully this bing.com stuff comes through, kind of weird how you get no mention of it through the whole checkout process, but I know people use it, so I guess we'll see. Looks like an awesome TV for the price.

Last year I was torn between this and an lcd but went with the lcd. To me the image detail was better on the lcd than the dlp. Not to mention the smaller footprint. But hey if someone has the room and has the money to replace bulbs often more power to them.

Is it just me are DLP sets falling REALLY behind in comparison to Plasma and LCDs.

It seems they are only good for cheap $$$ for 60''+ sets.

This is a good deal on any of the DLP sets. I'm partial to the even bigger 73"

My current 48" rear projection HDTV recently developed a ton of vertical lines so I'm in the market for a new HDTV.

I showed this to my wife.

She told me hell no.

sigh

She said no to a 60" HDTV for $640?!?! This TV is a great deal especially if your old one is starting to crap out. What possibily could she not like about this?

i have one of the 2004 gen mitsubishi dlp tv's (62 inch), and its gorgeous. Much better than the lcd tvs I own and gaming/movies are really beautiful. I'm seriously thinking about ditching my 65 mitsu rptv and getting this for the basement.

I believe Mitsu ONLY offers 60+ sets now because of the price fall of LCD/Plasma. But at 60" for $640.. LCD/Plasma doesn't even approach that cost vs. size.

Some pictures of the 65" version of this TV, a person in the slickdeals thread posted these, the TV was just delivered today according to them.
