I am thinking about pulling the trigger, but am wondering what the "promotional" status means.

Is this an older release missing the SP2 cd?

And will online activations after hardware changes be problematic?

EDIT: I ordered a copy yesterday, and my order status says "backordered." :(

EDIT #2: just got an e-mail saying my order was cancelled. Guess it was a "price mistake"

looks like a good deal.

It shows that it has the roll up so i think that includes sp2 ?

don't know how legit this is -- in a gray area

the promo packaging probably means it is similar to the free vista copies that came with the "power of together" promo

as in these are not for resale disks being resold

This is an OEM package according to the description under the Detailed Specs tab. I think "Product shipped in OEM promotional packaging" is just indicating that it's in a cardboard sleeve versus a retail box. $58.69 is a nice price but it's probably a price mistake. I think I'll order anyway. :D

License Type: License and Media
License Pricing: OEM
License Quantity: 1 User

The Microsoft part number appears to be legit.

Can these multi-CD installations be slipstreamed into a single cdr, so it can be installed on an Intel MacBook with Parallels?

I'd not hesitate to order from eCost if you know you will be keeping the product, and chances are with this, you will. I've had a minor issue w/a return, but the 6 or so orders I've placed w/them in the last year have been without issue.
