I've just bought a new stick of 256mb ram, which I put on my mb (se title) together with my two 128mb sticks. However, it is not recognized my neither the bios at startup or in windows. Sandra reports that particular memory bank as empty. I have tried swapping sticks, so that I put one of the 128mb sticks in the (previously) unused slot and the new 256mb in the slot that the 128mb stick used. It still doesn't recognize the stick in the slot, but recognizes the 256mb stick (ie, I now have 128+256mb ram).
Is it likely that this particular memory bank is dead, or is there any other possibilities I could try out to make it work?
I am running W98 with an 1g Athlon TB on the above mentioned mb. All my memory sticks are Mosel Vitelic original (same 'model'), both the 'old' and the new 256mb.
