My buddy's macbook pro had an unfortunate incident last night with a glass of his wife's wine. Needless to say Mr. Computer has gone on to somewhere better.

Any ideas on what was broken when the liquid got in there? He's wondering if he should even bother getting it fixed or if he should just buy a new one. Its an 09 model.

I wonder what it costs to replace the logic board....i'm guessing "a lot"

Edit- Just heard from him. Apple store said $1240 to repair. He's getting a new one.

If he is adventurous, he could probably replace it himself for at least half as much.

Ifixit.com is the best place to get the guide to take it apart, and then turn to ebay to actually buy the logic board since it will be cheaper that way.
