Question Dead M2Q socket on Gigabyte Z390 M

Z390 M Gaming board.

It will recognize a ssd in the M2P socket.

It will not recognize a ssd in the M2Q socket.

What am I doing wrong here. Can't find any sort of bios switch for it. Seems to just be dead.

At the moment its just a bare board with no OS. Just a processor and ram.

i9-9900k 3.6GHz

WD Blue SSD M2

32GB Corsair Vengance LPX DDR4 3000MHz

Is that an WD Blue NVMe SSD, or SATA SSD? The two M.2 slots may differ in their support for SATA versus PCI-E NVMe SSDs. Check the manual.

OK it's sorted out. Needs PCIe in that slot.
