***DEAD*** Logitech MX1000 $49.99 at BJ's

I know BJ's is only in the East, but they have the Logitech MX1000 for $49.99 if you can get there. They had quite a few at the one near me.

EDIT: The price at my BJ's was in error. It is now $69.99. See explanation below if you'd like.

I heard that these things are not that great for gaming because it skips or goes into a spin or something if you lift it up during games to move it. is that true?

DAMN YOU BJ'S!!!!! I live out in the west but I always have a good laugh when I see DAMN YOU FRY's! posted on AT. Looks like a hot deal to me OP!

I've had my MX1000 for over a month now and have never had that happen during gaming.

Yep. I've had mine for like two months and have absolutely no problems with games. I can't praise the thumb buttons more either because they are so useful.

I just returned my MX1000 because it DID have the problem, everytime you'd reposition the mouse to move it to the other end of the pad it would get some delay... I dunno, it's hard to explain.

It's sad, for the day I had it I loved it's precision but the software and the delay thing kills it...

The thing you have to realize is that no matter what optical/laser mouse you get, if you pick up the mouse off the mousepad, it will probably move unexpectedly as you come down with the mouse on the pad because it starts tracking movement again...

I've used it for over a month as well (got it for 49 originally from dealer discount) and have not noticed any problems during fps games.

Though I run higher mouse sensitivity so I never have to pick up my mouse 😛

True, it does move the cursor a little after you pick it up and then put it down, my Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (wired) did the same thing. But it's not like it sends the cursor sailing off into the corner or spins it around the screen. My only complaint is with the SetPoint software. It feels clunkier than how MS did theirs. Naturally MS can integrate it better because they wrote the OS so it is kinda unfair to compare them, but I just think they could have refined things a little more. Otherwise it's an excellent setup.

hmmm theres one right down the street from me. Is a membership required to purchase the mouse?

You can get a 1 day pass, but I they have a 15% surcharge, unless you sign up. If you sign up I think they refund it.

Thats odd. I called my local bjs store and they said it was 69.99. a bit more than i was wiling to pauy. but anywho, anyone getting this?

It was $49.99 at the BJ's I went to yesterday. I double checked.

OK, I just called over and was told it was mispriced yesterday. They also have a Logitech mouse/keyboard combo, and that's $49.99. Apparently the MX1000's accidently got the same $49.99 price, and until they caught the error they sold a bunch at that price. The lady I spoke to laughed as soon as I said MX1000. She told me that yesterday several people complained at the registers and got it for $49.99 before the manager decided to see what the problem was. The price has now been fixed. Bummer. I already have one, but my buddy was all set to pick one up.
