And in the instructions it says do not use a shiny surface for the mousepad like a mriror or such, and what do you think the morons at BB have under this mouse???? ;)

Unless I find something more comfortable than this black Belkin mousepad, I'll just have to keep recharging the batteries every 4 days. :)

tomato...potato.. ...

wireless desktop indicates they both wireless.. ..
Rechargebale mouse indicates just that as not all wireless mice are rechargeable..
and mx 700 denotes the mouse model as "mx duo" does not specify what type of mouse.. .. very important for those looking for one equal to the mx510 @ 800dpi.. ..

makes sense to me .. eh.. could change it i suppose but im lazy.. ..

cheers to Friday!!!!

these things sure do seem to come and go, as far as being in stock goes.. I had 2 in my cart the other day, got distracted.. went back to check out and they were out of stock.. happened on the thread again yesterday, saw people seemed to still be ordering them, checked and lo and behold it let me buy 2 of 'em then.. with free shipping even. then later they were out of stock again and then here this afternoon, someone ordered another one. I think if you want this you need to keep checking every so often..

I've been eyeing this combo for ages.. I got one of those non-rechargeable cordless duos that logitech was giving away so many of a couple years ago and my daughter appropriated it (I didn't so much mind because I really like my corded mx500 better than that mouse.. but I wanted that keyboard!), kept missing out on the good deals that came along, but this one was plenty good. my son is going to be putting together a new system in june, to take to college in the fall so I get to jump start him with fancy keyboard/mouse for his birthday. thank you, OP. and thanks to the people who kept responding, and encouraged me to look again.

Thanks, OP.
Take heart...I have some of each, the stand alone MX700 and the keyboard MX700 combos.
From what I've noticed, the facts are; they are exactly equal, except for my prior post as follows...

so i can use normal non-rechargable aa batteries with the mouse?

yeah, but they'll get drained pretty quickly and will have to replace them.
Actually, I never got the Energizer Bunny to work in the one I tried.

I'm guessing that Logitech had a bunch of sets like the last one I got that the batteries wouldn't hold a charge.

It cured itself before I got a chance to RMA it. I was out of town and left the mouse in the charging cradle for a week and - lo & behold, It was fixed!

I don't mean the ones that come bundled with an MX700, as this one does... I mean the new LX combos... When I check out the LX combos in stores, the mouse just doesn't feel as good as the MX700 (or MX500/510 or MX1000, for that matter).

Sorry, I mis-read your comment and didn't note the RE: to the LX series...
LX is not in my vocabulary, so I'll have to plead ignorant.

Edited to puzzle...
I just reread your post and I still missed the RE: to LX - Doh!

Both mouse and keyboard are clean and look brand new. The serial number has been blacked out on all of the items. The mouse has a small "X" on the bottom where they unscrewed the case.

Don't know about others, but, I guess I got lucky with my Duos.. Both of the refurbs I purchased (bought two of 'em at different times) came with the rechargable batteries.

I've had an MX-700 mouse that I bought within a month of when they first came out.

I LOVE IT!

I've put it in the charger every night when I power down the computer itself. I am still using the same NiMH cells in it and often use it for 6 or 8 hours at a time and leave the mouse on the desk during the day.

I've used it for as long as 20 hours straight with no problem. The charger is a convenient place for me to put it near the keyboard.

I'd also buy a wireless keyboard if I could find a deal with a "natural" keyboard. I'm addicted and since switching to a Dell/Microsoft one (wired) no longer have aches, pains and stiffness in my wrists.

$35 is an oustanding price for the duo. I paid about that for the mouse alone when I bought a "backup mouse" for "just in case" about a year ago. I've had a couple of wired optical mice go to "mouse heaven" and even at what I paid for the mice when it was just on the market it's still a throw away item.

Complaints (minor)
  1. The finish deteriorates after a while on mine. I guess I have "acidic" hands! Really looks grungy on the silver part where my palm contacts it and the round logo is unreadable.

The battery contacts on the mouse don't always make good contact in the charger. I've found that wiping them with a soft cloth from time to time (sleeve?) usually works to help it make contact in the charger and for the green light to come on.

received mine today and am sending it back. The keyboard seems new but the mouse is "deformed". The battery cover on the bottom is deformed and melted. The sticker on it is also coming off andin the battery compartment, there is some plastic melted. Seems like either batteries exploded or they heated too much in this mouse previously.

Just wondering, how good is overstock with RMAs ?

Mine arrived today and I'm thinking of returning it also and buy it somewhere else brand new. The mouse has serious scuff marks and was not cleaned at all when it was refurbished. The right mouse button gets stuck and is hard to press down efficiently.

So how are they with RMA's??

I called a sales rep about these and according to her, they have to label "returns" as refurbished. I don't think they are factory refurbished, I think they just sell other people's returns. I'm gonna pay the few extra bucks and get a new one.....with a non crossed out S/N and 5 year warranty.
