Dead keyboard controller(ps2) on a socket5 board, WHAT TO DO?

I am trying to get a co-workers computer going again, but the ps2 port for the keyboard appears to be dead, what other ways are there to attach a keyboard to this board, there are no usb ports and the o.s. is win95 original so no o.s. support for a usb add on card, any ideas?

There used to be those old AT ports... Do they have them? They're like PS/2 ports, only a hell of a lot bigger. If there are, use an adapter.

It is definitely not the keyboard, the owner tried different keyboards, when I got it, I tried my keyboard on it and still got "keyboard not present or key pressed in error" with the num, caps, scroll lights flashing and a constant beeping sound 🙁

Your co-worker is keeping a little secret. He or she probably hot plugged the mouse. The PS2 port gets a surge when you do that. It usually destroys the Keyboard controller chip if not the entire mother board. It happens where I work all the time.
