Hello all, I have problem with my IT7 board.

I have seen from the ABIT website that USB2.0 driver is ready for download and installation. So I updated BIOS and installed the driver and it prompt me to reboot the sytem. I did that......

And I lose the power to keyboard and mouse when I get to Windows 2K Pro log-on screen. I tested the keyboard and mouse and they are fine. I reinstalled the whole system(OS, BIOS and drivers) and tried to installed the USB2.0 driver, it did the same.

What could be wrong? What can I do to power up the kyeboard and mouse without reinstalling the whole system again?
:(

Try to clear the CMOS, set up defaults ( PF7) ? read through to see if theres a USB BIOS or Software choice. You may have to try a few entries before you get it right.

Captain, since the ship is in no danger and we're not all about to die,
I want to tell you that not ALL Klingons wear lace underware,
well, .... at least not while on duty.

I did that resetting CMOS and changing the CMOS settings. Problem is that at the hardware level, it is fine(I think.. Cause it works with Start up disk I have)... I think the problem is with Windows USB2.0 drivers. The light on the keyboard and mouse goes off when it is loading(splash screen of Windows) and never comes back on.

help~!

Can you get running lon enough to get to Windows Update and try to pull a download from Mictosoft ?
You may have to try to download to a friends computer to get a floppy or CD-RW copy of their drivers.
I'm a little leary of letting go of the legacy hook-ups of the Keyboard and mouse, I had a simular problem
when WinXP first brought out drivers, and had to go back to the D/S-2 and re-install XP drivers.

Are you using any USB 2 devices currently/ if not the support is superfluous. Have you tried booting in safe mode?

Well I have the same board and also updated the USB to 2.0

Here is what I did and it WORKED for me but as always YMMV

1. Updated the BIOS
2. Ran the patch
3. Ignored the instructions and let all the updates run BEFORE I rebooted
4. It worked fine

Let me clarify a little, when I ran the update patch Windows XP started to detect new USB devices, I said ok to all the security warnings, and I waited a minute or so as I knew more dialoge boxes were coming, no I'm not clairvoyant I have just run this patch before ;)

I belive that there are 4 warnign boxes, anyways, when Windows XP had finished detecting and installing the devides, THEN I rebooted as instructed.

As always YMMV, but this worked for me where when I followed the directions it did not work as well. I will also add this was on a brand-new fresh install of XP Pro after installing, Intel INF drivers, IAA drivers, Radeon drivers, then the USB 2.0 drivers.

Hope this helps keep us updated.
