Dead Island trailer

can't you bash those little girls in Bioshock?

I've chosen to save them all so far, still haven't finished the game, though...1 year later.

I thought it was a great trailer, and that it wasn't trying too hard.

Of course it doesn't have anything to do with gameplay, but it's creative and that reflects well on the game.

I thought the trailer was good, but I'm hesitant to think that reflects well on the game.

It's unlikely that the game will involve any of the characters from that trailer (looks like they all died), the trailer reveals no unique story information, and there's no in-game footage. A company's marketing department could have cooked up a trailer like that and slapped any of a number of zombie game names on the end and it would have been equally applicable. If it was independently created by a different group of people than the ones who made the game, then the game might not even be reminiscent of it. That is, it might not even be indicative of the overall cinematic quality of the game, much less any finer details.

Basically, that trailer is worthless as an indicator of quality and it would be foolish to make a purchasing decision based on it.

The entire game is about saving that family. That will be the objective. The trailer is what happens if you fail.

You're joking right? 🙄

For all of you bashing the trailer, read about the actual game here. It sounds very interesting; almost like a zombie survival RPG.

Because of the trailer I read about the game.

1. Its been in development since 2007 (thats good to me. I hate rushed bullshit) The studio has been busy making other games to keep the lights on but this is their baby.

2. They say the melee combat system will be really cool. Bone, flesh and muscle will all render and move differently based on how they are hit :hmm:

3. Hit boxes for all the body parts.

4. Survival horror RPG (unlock new moves based on how you level your character) scenario with different characters and story lines.

5. Very few guns on the island as its a resort can pick up virtually anything to make it a weapon. Including crafting weapons from different objects.

6. Free move (so they say) you can go where ever you want as you figure out why there are zombies and try to get off the island.

7. Co-op play.

I'm sure all of this is subject to change at this point but it sounds pretty cool to me. I think left4dead had something going for it but the unlimited weapons and crap all over the place made it seem less "survival horror" and more duck hunt.

doesn't this look kinda like right when you exit the cave in FARCRY? Maybe same island hahaha.

Just like Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2 I must buy this game!

Now they just need to make a movie out of it! Would make a good movie if the right person does it.

Oh and btw I seen plenty of zombie films with kids in it. Yes as zombies even. Btw someone is making a mod for Left 4 Dead to have kid zombies as well.

Yeah, saw this yesterday. Pretentious claptrap trying to tug at the heart strings, but failing miserably.

Show me some gameplay.

For some reason I think I read somewhere that the trailer was not made by the game company. It's a pretty neat trailer as a "short film," but as strictly a game trailer, it's essentially useless.
