I bought this morning, so thought I would share. Total came out to be $194 for me with NYS tax. Planning on installing ubuntu server and running a media server and 2 PC backup.

AMD Turion II Neo N40L 1.5GHz (dual-core), 2GB DDR3, 250GB SATA, 150W PSU
PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Server Adapter, Embedded SATA Controller
VGA, 6 USB (1 internal), eSata port, 4 HDD bays
No OS

How well does this CPU handle real-time transcoding? (Minor stuff like streaming to Android Phones, etc)

If you were wondering it is not vmdirectpath compatible. You will have to step up to one of the ML110 G serverss

Kick ass, dont know if i should buy one more.. i already got 3, i use these guys as cheap storage, use 4x2tb in raid 5 with a hp p410 adapter.

That's exactly what I've been considering. Do you mind giving some details such as how the drives are connected?

In each bay, the back is hard wired into the chassis so you can't change that. the other end is a mini sas connector that goes to the motherboard.


Basically the p410 from hp is a dual internal mini sas, so basically you take that cable out from the mobo and plug it into the pcie card.

Basically the cable looks like this

Whats good about the p410 is its dual internal you can buy that above cable and hook it up to a 4 in 1 2.5 in 5.25 bay like this

You can add 4 1tb 2.5 drive and get additional 4 tb on this guy
