How low can these go? Apparently, they are now $79.99 @ Microcenter in-store only, limit one per customer per day.
So they've show up on ebay BNIB from flippers, between $120-130.
So apparently Newegg felt compelled to lower their price.
Or maybe AMD still has a large stock of these and is blowing them out.
Rumor has it that the entry-level CPU for 3rd-gen Ryzen (3000-series, 7nm) will be a $100 6C/12T CPU. So these 1st-gen CPUs needed to get sold before then.
Either way, this is a great price for a very versatile and performant CPU. I've owned several for two years, I think that they are the best CPU that I've ever owned. These are the Q6600 of their era.
If you're not already on an AM4 (or Intel 1151 300-series platform), there's no excuse not to jump in.
Edit: Ok, a day or two later, and now they're OOS (for now?). Took longer than I expected. Was this a fire-sale? Will they get more stock in at this price? I don't know, stay tuned, and let me know if they go back in-stock by making a post.
Edit: Deal is dead. Although back in stock, Newegg is now charging LIST PRICE for them ($219.99). Crazy.
