Upto you. But I did not need that. An extra 266Mhz wont hurt though.

A 15 XGA draws allot more power for some odd reason than a 14.1 XGA monitor does, so your battery will run out much faster with the bigger screen.

I'm currently typing on almost the exact same model right now except I upped the RAM to 512 MB, and added an external USB floppy drive. This was a few months ago and I had to pay extra to up the video card from the 16 to the 32MB version and to upgrade the HDD to the 40 GB 5400 rpm one. I had a % off stackable coupon and it all came to ~$1125 shipped (no tax here). Looks like they are giving the HDD and video card upgrade free now.
At any rate, I am happy as a clam with this unit. Absolutely no problems at all. Run to get this deal folks! Be aware though that there are no legacy ports included on this unit (PS/2, Serial & parallel ports), in case that is important to you. There are 2 USB2, one S-Video and one Firewire port though. The combo drive works like a charm too! Good luck to you!

You paid too much, 5% Amex discount is stackable with 10% coupon. That covers the tax almost.

How do you get Amex Discount? Can I apply this discount to it to this laptop I just bought? I got the lappy with my Amex Blue for students card. Thanks.

First of all, you need a business Amex, not a regular Amex. You just need the first five digits though.
However, the Amex will disable the automatic 10%. (the stackable 10% will work with Amex, but not the automatic one)

So its no big deal in the end. With people getting smarter daily, you should have all the ammo(reminds of quakeIII) with you.

Nice; almost $200 less than I paid for just about the same thing in mid June. I added an external USB floppy and doubled the RAM though. Still, not $200 difference there. Oh well, that's the nature of tech prices.

You really should consider calling and adding 256 MB more RAM to your system though. I can't stress that enough. Laptops are by nature a bit sluggish compared to desktops anyway and the additional RAM really helps.

Damn that's cheap. If I had a job and wanted another laptop, that would be mine.

How much does this thing weigh and does it have a tendency to heat up on your lap? Anybody know of any good deals for a laptop that weighes less than 5 lbs?
