Bowflex has Bowflex Selecttech 552 Dumbbells for $239.40 after applying code DAY5A. Shipping is free.

DEAL IS DEAD

EDIT: Go ahead and call me a dramma queen, but I just want to tell everyone here that I am extremely unhappy with Bow-Flex service, and strongly suggest you people not to order anything from this company.

So here I was waiting for my order to arrive... I ordered on the 20th and off course I expected my order to arrive in a few business days. I mean, why shouldn't I? I never had to wait for more than a week for ANY internet order I made within the last 5 years. (Unless the order got delayed due to OOS)

How naive I was... Only today, the Fedex number these people gave me became "active". Means I can actually "track it". And the only thing it says is that shipping info was sent to Fedex and that my package is to arrive... Are you ready for this?! June fucking 6th!!! So I am to wait... 13 business days(that's not counting the weekends)

Why wasn't I notified of this? The item was listed as "in stock". Why is my order being delayed so much? They are supposed to tell their customers about these things.

But this is not the worst part... The worst part is, that Fedex says that only one dumbbell is being shipped to me. I ordered TWO dammit. And I even confirmed that it was indeed TWO that I was buying. So what the fucking fuck?

We all know that time is money, so the very fact that Bowflex is taking this long to send me my order should already entitle me to a 5-10% refund. That would be good customer service.

And now I probably have to wait another two weeks AFTER June 6th for the 2nd dumbell to arrive, if it will arrive at all...

At this point I wish I could just cancel my order, refuse the package that's already on it's way and knock the people working at bowflex with this damn dumbell over their head.

2nd EDIT

Turns out I am a dramma queen after all. Just when I was already getting red hot with anger, I couldn't take it anymore and called bowflex. They wold me that there is indeed TWO dumbells being shipped to me, and they are both scheduled to arrive on the day when I called. I was so happy that I decided not to even complain. And whadda ya know? My order indeed arrived on that day...

However I still have to say that 2+ week shipping was very lame, especially given the amount of money I paid.

PS: Funny how some people complain about sturdiness of these dumbells. It actually says "DO NOT DROP" on EACH dumbell. On top of that the guy in the video clearly says that these are NOT to be compared to your average solid steel dumbells, and are more of a workout tool as opposed to a "dumbell". He clearly says that they WILL break if dropped, and can break very fast even when dropped from a very small elevation. He is stressing in the video that when these "dumbells" are used properly they will last a long time.

I been using them for two days now, and I am very happy. The locking mechanism is rock solid, no loose plates falling on my feet. I couldn't drop these even if I really wanted to. The neighbors downstairs will come kill me if I try anything like that. ; )

Dang... Nice! 1st time these are on sale... That I seen at least. Not that I can afford to pay this much. ; )

I did snatch the 552's though right before they went OOS.

Just a warning, these are a death trap. The plastic-covered "plates" on mine kept falling off mid-exercise. Luckily none of them smacked me in the face. Almost killed my cat though.

Good to know. I would expect something so expensive to have better quality control for something that needs to be this safe, but I will pass.

Did you ever drop the dumbells after a set? Even once?

I would definitely contact the manufacture. I have been using the 552's for over three years and no issues at all. I am very careful with them and I never drop them to the floor after completing a set.

I tried to be careful, but they're DUMBBELLS, not Tiffany crystal. The retention mechanism is plastic on plastic, which is why they are so flimsy.

So look like you did drop em at lest once. See, they are not exactly dumbells like other dumbells are. You have to realize that you are paying all that money for the CONVENIENCE of doing away wit ha full rack of dumbells and using only a pair of these. NOT durability or toughness. There are some compromises that need to be made with adjustable dumbells. Clearly they still havent learned to make these adjustable AND tough.

Powerblocks? Yes, they dont fall apart, but they are not as good looking as the Bowflex and they are not as comfortable.
