Not hot ...

It was hot enough that they already sold out.

From the rules:
What about COURTESY?

Agree... not a hot deal...Those are inflated prices due to miners buying up inventory.

Wait a bit longer...

Supply is so low and demand so high that those are "deals" in the economic sense even if not deals in the anandtech sense.
Yeah, and RX VEGA cards are fairly rare at retail still. Hence the prices. They'll go fast, most likely.

Edit: Yep! OOS! That didn't last long...

Edit: Ok, for those of you that claimed that this wasn't hot - for the record, you may or may not have noticed, but GPU-based coin-mining is now a "thing", and in Dec., and Jan., graphics card prices have literally DOUBLED OR TRIPLED.

For mining (not gaming, and I know there's a lot of NV diehards on these forums), these cards really can't be beat.

So, this was a deal, for mining. Perhaps I should have clarified, "for miners only". Sorry.

These cards go for $1500-2000 from third parties on ebay, and that's even IF you can find one AT ALL.

These were a 1st-party source, at probably 1.5x MSRP. Which, relative to the rest of the market these last two months, was a genuine deal.

Edit: It's possible that in another 2-3 months, Bitcoin's value might drop some, and altcoins following suit, and graphics card prices getting back to "normal". Or not, who knows. Maybe some new altcoin will get really popular.
