I only have ever owned Gigabyte MoBos.

Does anyone have experience with their GPUs (support, quality, etc)? I currently own a gtx 560 core 448 FTW from EVGA and it has an annoying WHINE that I can't stand.

I am hoping to get this as a nice upgrade.

Basically my questions are:

1) Is the cooling solution effective AND quiet?

2) Do they use good power supplies on these boards to maximize the overclocking potential?

In the past three years, I've owned a 4870, 5870, 6870, 7950, and 680. I've had no quality issues with any of those cards. My one disappointment was the Windforce 7950 having no heatsink for the VRMs. That's really been my only complaint, and I guess the green PCB lol. I haven't had to RMA anything, so I can't speak on that.

My Windforce cards were good in the cooling/noise department. Those were my 5870 and 7950. My 680 is a reference card with the blower cooler. It's running completely stock and the case has good airflow, so I have no issues with that one either... except for the ugly PCB ;)

I bit on this. I bought my gtx 560 c448 about 6 months ago and have regretted the purchase (noisy and mediocre performance at 2560*1440).

I am hoping that I do not regret this one.

Sick deal on this card might jump on it.

I was curious if anyone knows if the 7950 is voltage locked like Gigabytes 7970 version here: Gigabyte 7970 1000mhz WF3 I've read that all those versions are voltage locked which sucks because that is not a bad deal in and of itself.

I bought this exact model card at its release (for about $460 ), and it was not voltage locked. Afterburner adjusted it up to 1.3 V.

I believe Sleeping Dogs and Hitman are on Steam (don't quote me on this).

FarCry 3 is probably going to be on whatever crap Ubisoft uses.

EA is still having problems with Valve, so I assume the coupon is Origin only (I don't think Warfighter will even be on Steam).

Ubisoft uses Steam for Splinter Cell Conviction so hopefully it will be the same.

"I wish they were all Steam codes" is what someone said in the comments for the bundle. I am still tempted but I really prefer to have my games on Origin or Steam only as I dont like trying to keep track of other apps.

Wow that's cheap. And it actually won't fit in my case. That's just way too long for the storm scout case...

As a long time Nvidia user (I got my first computer in the early 2000s with an MX200...and have gone through quite a few cards since), this bundle and price/performance really brought me over.

Without derailing the thread, is there anything I will notice differently in my user experience (gaming/control panel/etc) that will be significantly different than Nvidia's?

Not really. The CCC (Catalyst Control center) is pretty similar to the NV panel and has very similar functionality.

make sure to uninstall all your NV drivers before installing the AMD ones and enjoy!

You won't have CUDA or Physx off the GPU if that matters.
