Dead gas pedal?

So I just hopped into my 2008.5 Mazda3 GT (manual), and I pulled out of my parking spot and noticed there wasn't any engine power after hitting the gas.

(I had to go in reverse uphill on idling engine power, barely made it back into my parking spot!)

Anyhow, I put it into neutral and floored the pedal without any response from the engine.

Any idea at all? I'm going to have the dealer tow it tomorrow. This sucks 🙁

It's just about three months old too!

That sucks. I just hit 95k on my 2005 Mazda3 and knock on wood, no major problems yet (other than a faulty fuel pump solenoid valve that would flood the engine when I filled up with gas).

Although its covered under warranty, can you see how much the repair will end up costing the dealer? I'm getting wary of the 100k mile mark and the costs that will surely come soon.

Just for grins, you might try unplugging and replugging the connector at the throttle body.

I highly doubt it will fix it, but it shouldn't take more than a minute to do.
