Galaxy 80XLH5HS8GUX GeForce GTX 480 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - $249.99 + Free shipping

Less $25 Mail in Rebate. [Rebate valid between September 22, 2011 and November 6, 2011] (Model:80XLH5HS8GUX) (UPC: 845735000679)

= $225.

3 Year Warranty. (You probably should register your card within 30 days as some merchants default to a 1 year warranty - but you can check this on Galaxy's website).

Grab a $8 of Thermal interface (Noctua NT-H1, Prolimatech PK-1, Arctic MX-4, Thermalright Chill Factor 3, etc.), and change the TIM on your Fermi card (Video Guide). This will definitely lower your temperatures.

The power consumption is high on this card, so a good quality 600W PSU is recommended if pairing this with an overclocked Core i5/i7 CPU. If you are running a modern non-overclocked Sandy Bridge CPU, then a 520-550W by Corsair/Seasonic/Antec/Enermax/PC Power & Cooling should suffice.

Happy gaming.

EDIT: Thanks to a couple posters, it appears this card also has a $25 Mail in Rebate if purchased between September 22, 2011 and November 6, 2011.
Here is the link to the Galaxy website to fill out your rebate information.

Newegg has raised the price from $199.99 to $249.99. But with the rebate, this comes out to about $225 before shipping.

*** Looks like this item has completely sold out ***

Wow, great deal and you beat me to it. 🙂

A mild overclock on this card and 2 of these in SLI is like having a GTX580 SLI for the price of a single GTX580. 😛

For any prospective buyer, I recommend MSI Afterburner to create a custom fan profile. You can lower the fan speed at idle to 32% from 40% and the card becomes really quiet. Also, allow the fan speed to ramp up quicker than stock BIOS.

Bump for Russian's awesome find. This will disappear quickly. Honestly, if you're considering a GTX570, just go with this. The memory increase alone is worth any additional power you use (unless you're a stickler for low idle power use as I am).

I almost jumped on this, but 64.1 db at load was just too loud for me. I've gotten spoiled by the ultra quiet gtx 460...

I got in on one, then I went back to get another one 5 minutes later and it went OOS.

I don't know if I should sell my 580 and keep the 480 till next gen comes or offload it to a friend for cost.

hmmm, I just added it to my cart..I went all the way to paypal but don;t need it so I removed it..looks like not OOS?

Back in !

Got free shipping with Shop Runner ..

This is a killer card for the price...

Thanks OP !

Ordered. Hoping it doesn't sound like a jet engine...

Between this and the 6970 (most likely pricing error) on Amazon, do you guys think prices are going to be sliding going into black friday and the new year? If this is a trend I might just cancel the order

There could be a $200 deal on an HD6970 or a GTX570. It's very difficult to say. I mean if you keep waiting, there will always be better deals and next year HD7000 and GTX600 series will arrive. I suggest changing the TIM. It's a good $8 fix to reduce the temps and noise levels.

Ok, I changed my mind and got 1. I figure that I can sell a couple of my older cards (gtx 260 core 216, gtx 260 classic, gtx 460 768, 9600 gso) to recoup some/most of the cost, anyway. And if it's too loud then that TIM video didn't look too difficult to follow.

Anyone who changes the TIM, feel free to post your before and after results. Also, feel free to share your thoughts on the noise levels at idle and load with custom fan profiles set up. My GTX470 was manageable at 59-63% fan speed, but was pretty loud after that.

power draw looks to be only ~ 60w greater than gtx 570. So 60x24x365/1000 = 525 kw * 10cents/kwh = $52 per year added power costs at 100% load (a somewhat unlikely scenario even for dedicated gpu DC crunchers like me). I'll figure $35 extra per year on the high side, and that's ok with me.
