Thnaks for the post as I was just looking for a friend of mine who was about to buy one from Best Buy for $8 more for only a 120GB WD HD....now he can get a better HD for less and twice what he was going to get!

I bought one 300gb retailed in store just over the weekend for $69.99 and I'm going to return it.
So I'm in for one 500gb PATA.
Can't beat $0.18/GB ratio.

went to fry's today and saw a 300gb sata maxtor for $59 not the pata. i did see a seagate 250gb pata for $49 though.
 
Just picked up a 500gb (PATA) in retailed box for $89.99, shipped via Outpost.
One thing like about these sales are the drive comes with cable kit where oem comes with NONE!
At $0.18/gb, would it continue to slide?

When I saw this the other day, I had just talked with a friend on mine who was about to buy a 160GB HD at BB for around $70. While he had a few issues ordering (the web site wanted him to buy insurance for $20 at firsr???) he ordered it that night and it was at his home in rural IL on Wednesday - less than 48 hours after he ordered it!
