[DEAD] eVGA FX5200 (AGP) $0.00 AR + S&H

Hmmmm, I have an old AthlonXP 1800+ rig running on on-board video only but it's my WHS machine so I don't think it would get any benefit from a graphics upgrade...

still, free is very tempting.

Hmmmm, should I upgrade my Geforce 2 GTS-v???? Remember those....32mb DDR?

I don't think it would be a gigantic upgrade according to this. (I actually had one of those GTS card I bought from Newegg. Worked great, and I gave it away with a motherboard I sold on eBay.

Geforce2 GTS vs FX5200

edit:
I remember there being a software mod for that GTS card that let you overclock, which I did. I can't remember the speed I was running it though. Now if you need DirectX 9 that's a different story.

LOL in fact it looks like a downgrade...

EVGA, like most companies, outsource their rebates. The company that does them is pretty bad and deny a lot of valid rebates. On the plus side, though, EVGA will almost always honor the rebate directly if you contact them after being denied. They even have an e-mail address set aside for that purpose, rebates@evga.com.

I've actually had the opposite experience with EVGA rebates, though I've only had 2. One went through no problem but for the other one I bought a card from Fry's on the last day of the rebate, but because of the time difference the invoice showed the next day. When I realized this I called the rebate number and was told that I would originally be denied, but to resubmit with an explanation of what happened and I would be approved. I was denied but resubmitted like the CS told me and not only did they honor the rebate like she said they would, they got it to me fairly quickly instead of making me wait another couple of months. Best rebate experience I've ever had when I had to call the company, and it was even legitimately my fault.
