Good deal. Go thru Bing and then Tiger Direct and get 12.2% cash back.

Cash back is $4.88. Shipping is $8.99. So total after Bing and shipping is $44.10

Yeah you are right forgot the $2.99 shipping on Amazon. I thought this would initially qualify for Tigers Free shipping.

Hmmm, I need an E4x00 so if one of you is upgrading from that, PM me...

Richard

Wasn't upgrading and buyers remorse hit....cancelled! :D

Oh, and you can get the Athlon II 240 for $39.99 - 12.5% Bing + shipping ($6.99 for KY) at TD or at Amazon for $39.99 + $2.99 shipping. Retail edition.

or at TD directly...(don't forget 12.2% Bing)...

If you want to chance the $4.88 Bing cash back, you can try for it and go through Google Checkout for $5.00 off $25.00. If you lost the Bing, you would actually be $0.12 better from the $5.00 off! ;)

These older 5200s can be hit or miss in the overclocking department. Most will do 3.4GHz with a few jewels cracking the 4.0GHz barrier at 1.36Vcore.

I bought two E3200/MSI G31 combos @ Fry's in mid-Nov for $50 AR. These are M0 Wolfdales. Both samples had default 1.29Vcore. No problem with Prime or LinX at 3.5GHz (default voltage).

BTW, the E3200 has VT. E5200 does not support VT.

My 5200 can hardly do 3.1GHz, and that's under a good, relatively expensive cooler. Anything higher comes with crashes, BSODS, or other issues. Supposedly if I was good at tweaking RAM timings I could possibly manage to get to 3.5GHz somehow, but I really cant see getting anywhere higher. I suppose you get what you pay for. When I bought my e6300 Conroe, I kept hearing stories about 3.0GHz and higher, but I could do 2.8GHz max.... When I was buying this 5200 I bought it because everyone kept screaming 4.0GHz, but again, this was a bunch of BS. Then again, what the heck am I complaining about? The CPU was dirt cheap, even at the price I bough it for originally, and it performs well, easily handling all games and apps, and possibly will continue to do so for a year or more from now.

Thanks! Too cheap to pass up, was going to get the $70 E6300 from the egg but this will do since im not running Win7 pro anyway.

A 5200 that can only do 3.1? Must be your voltage setting or ram timings. I 'm running a old E2160 at 3.2 for over a year and a half. Will do 3.4 under stress tests stable but runs too loud for me.

I'm looking forward to getting mine, Hopefully i can atleast hit 3.8.

I have an ECS G31-T mATX motherboard that I got for free with my Q8200 from FRYS.

Choices. This could be a part of a big upgrade for my parents.

Thanks OP. Bought 3 more CPUs that I didn't need, LOL. $100+ gets free shipping, plus I clicked through Bing for 8% and my CC gives another 1%. Wow, what will I do with them now?

If you would have searched for "Tigerdirect" (no quotes) from Bing.com, you would have received 12.2% cash back! ;)

Will this work on my Gigabyte P35 motherboard? I don't know anything about MB's. :(
Currently have a 2140. Would this be a good upgrade?
